Episode 203 – Future Tens3

Drue glances through the locker at his home plane of Narnia, and turns around. No, Capeside is his home now. And Jen is his Aslan. I’ve never read those books if that isn’t clear.
The streak of 4th season threepeats continues! This week we are early in the season with a fun drunken party episode. It’s not Jen’s birthday, and that’s a cause for Celebration in Drue’s eyes (dreamy blue eyes). So he B&Es some fool’s summer home and throws a rager. Meanwhile Pacey and Joey are cutely bickering, and Joey takes the upper hand by slamming party punch til she can’t hear colors anymore. Dawson also shows up to the bash, for reason’s I can’t remember. And Andie & Jack make an appearance as well to blow off the college hunting blues. The result: Drue gets away with it, because he’s the best. Joey bonds with the girls, and bonds with her boy, Dawson has a sad, and Jen gets the hookup on some sweet Ecstasy, setting up a future plot point. All-in-all, it’s a fun time. And it’s a threepeat, so you can bet there will be rambling as well.

Episode 202 – Mind Gam3s
Sometimes you think something is going to suck, and you end up loving it. Such is the case with Mind Games III. We haven’t watched this since waaaay back in the 20s, but we are finally closing the door on it with our third and final run through. As a recap, Joey and Pacey have recently started knocking boots, and they are now doing it constantly, they’re just having a hard time finding places to do the deed. When Pacey suggests to Gretchen that she skedaddle out of the beach house for a night, she figures out what’s up, and then heads over to Dawson’s to even the score in the Witter family sex contest. Of course Dawson screws that up by talking about Joey, which leaves Gretchen frustrated with Dawson, Pacey, and Joey. Meanwhile Jenny Linds AKA Michy Dubs is hanging with her main man Jackers AKA The Ancient Alien and stalking her shrink to all the Capeside hipster hotspots. Teen sex and stalking… what more could a girl ask for?

Episode 201 – Promicid3
So… this episode. After we finished recording our critically acclaimed 200th anniversary episode, we took a break, poured more drinks, and rolled right into 201. At a certain point it gets real goofy, and rather than fight it, we lean in. We rolled up Promicide for the final time, which is always a fun watch, and we just did what came natural. Lots of yelling at the TV, fawning over Drue, and random breaks for musical interludes. Look, it is what it is. It’s Promicide and we’re tipsy. It isn’t high art, but maybe it’s entertaining enough to sit through for an hour. Personally I don’t remember and refuse to listen back. Enjoy!

Episode 200 – Dance

The unsung hero of Dawson’s Creek, whose story lines often suffered to give more screen time to golden children, whose eyes and smile lit up a dance floor line none other, and who left us far too soon. We love you Cliff.
Two Hundred Episodes! That’s 72 more than there were episodes of Dawson’s Creek! This week we celebrate the amazing achievement of… not stopping doing something… and listen to well-wishes of friends of the show, new and old. Before that, however, we readdress an email from last week touching on the problematic nature of one particularly iconic scene from 3rd season, and even bring in a special guest to give her opinion, and change up the demo a little bit. After that, we tell RNGesus to take a hike, and pick the only remaining season 1 episode we haven’t watched: Dance. It’s the second episode ever, and it’s a doozy. Immediately following that we launch into a ton of emails and voicemails from our fine listeners, and finish it up with a special surprise. The show starts on a more serious note, but ends in madness. So I’d consider it a success. Thanks for sticking around for 200 eps!

Episode 199 – Clean and Sober

They stared at the Panasonic 55″ HD projection TV, longing in their eyes. Both hoping the other didn’t notice that, though they stared at a Television, it was the reflection of the other in the blank screen that they each truly longed for. I ship dat. I ship dat hurd.
Tonight we are going to party like it’s episode 199, because it is. And as luck would have it, we rolled a threepeat and got to pick our poison this week. Our choice, as it has been requested multiple times by our dear listeners, is one of the few gems of season 6: Clean and Sober. In this episode Pacey buys a new TV, and uses that as an excuse to throw a party, all the Bostonians show up and begin to either get drunk, or fret about getting drunk. We also find out Emma needs a greencard (who cares), and Pacey never got over Joey (obvs). Meanwhile in Side-Plot-City, Dawson visits Audrey in rehab, and they get into shenanigans stalking personal hero of Big D’s. It is a low-stakes, fun episode that Season 6 needed more of, and we had a great time watching it. Stick around for voicemails and emails, we got em both.

Episode 198 – Cinderella Story
This is quite an episode. This is an episode fit for a 200th anniversary. Unfortunately it’s on 198, but that just means you get to experience it early, lucky listeners. First of all, we rolled up a season 3 episode, right in the sweet spot (the 50s). It’s a grower more than a shower, but it finishes strong with the first real Pacey/Joey kiss on that famous stretch of road where Dawson’s Father eventually becomes pavement paste. After the ep we have so much listener submitted content we can barely cram it all in. Emails, Phonecalls, reviews. Everyone showed up this week, which makes us very happy. Come join us in once again witnessing the true birth of the good ship Pay-Jo, and stick around for some hot takes.

Episode 197 – Four Scary Stori3s
So this is another one of those episodes for the 3 or 4 weirdos out there who don’t care so much about Dawson’s Creek and just like to listen to Eric and Josh babble on, because it’s our 3rd time around the fifth season snoozer: Four Scary Stories. Blah blah, anthology, blah blah, ghost stories, blah blah mannequin attack. The TV show may be boring, but the podcast is straight FIRE! We talk about hilarious things like…. actually I can’t remember what we talked about, but I remember enjoying myself doing it. So if we enjoyed ourselves, you probably will too, right? Hello? Nobody is going to download this one are they? It’s fine, it was just a couple hours out of our lives making content for YOU PEOPLE that we’ll never get back. But fine, Fine! Go listen to Gossip Goons or Felicity Felons or whatever other TV show/descriptive noun podcast is trending right now on your insta stories. I’M OVER IT. I’ve MOVED ON. I’m. Fine. Just don’t forget that

Ep 196 – Stolen Ki22es
This week we welcome back out favorite 3rd mic, Mr. Sean Faust, to talk about his experience meeting one of the cast members of our beloved Dawson’s Creek. Which one is it, you might ask? Let’s just say that Sean remembers everything. GET IT? After that we roll up Stolen Kisses, our first 3rd season joint in a while, and Eric’s personal favorite DC episode. Listen and enjoy while Josh and Sean talk over some of the most memorable scenes of the Pacey and Joey romance, while Eric pointlessly yells at them to shut up. Then, join in the communal hate of the world’s worst painting ever to grace prime time TV. Afterwards we read emails, including some sexy fan fic from our resident fan fic writer. It was a joy to record, and hopefully it will be tolerable to listen to. Thanks for the effort!

Episode 195 – Double Date
Season 1, how we missed you so. This week we watch a fan favorite episode from the first season: Double Date. This is the one where Dawson, freshly broken up with Jen, decides to very unawkwardly insert himself into her date with Cliff, by suggesting they make it a double, then finding some emotionally vulnerable patsy he can use and discard like so many soiled tissues. Dawson, the villain of our story, finds this girl, lies to her, manipulates her, and makes her complicit in his schemes. Meanwhile the heroic Cliff shows Jen what could have been the time of her life, if not ruined by the evil Leery boy. As this all unfurls, Joey and Pacey are forced to do a class project together. They are forced to venture deep into the swamp to hunt the elusive gastropods, that Pacey so carelessly sentenced to death the night before. One thing leads to another, and the very first feelings of attraction begin to blossom in Pacey, marking the beginning of the greatest OTP ever to grace a screen. Also, stay tuned til the end for a sexual supercut you won’t want to miss.

Episode 194 – Re2nited

Turns out when you search for “Dawson’s Creek Reunited” you get one million pics from the EW spread, and very few screencaps of the show. This was one of the latter.
This episode starts with an pillow fight, moves on to a parent-trap situation, and ends with a nervous breakdown. In other words… this is top ten material. Jen has been booted from the House of Grams, and is squatting with the Dawson. Dawson is spending some quality time with Joey, and the two of them actually seem to be in a happy relationship… for now. The real story this week is Pacey, Andie, and Jack, the original power trio. Andie is going through some stuff while the boys do their best to keep her from making any mistakes. It is actually a very powerful episode of television that addresses important mental health concerns, and it couldn’t be more timely than during this Mental Health Awareness month that we rolled it up. Unfortunately we absolutely ruin the weight of the important scenes with our absolute jackassery. We apologize. Nevertheless, it is a fantastic episode that we enjoy, even on the second viewing. We hope you enjoy the second listening.
